Default Exhaust option. Is this ok?

Need some quick feedback. My new to me 2012 txt had an after market exhaust setup. It's WAY too loud. Dropping another $400 for a muffler is not an option at this moment. Very reputable local exhaust guy is recommending a muffler he uses to quiet atv's for hunting. I compared the factory unit to his and they are almost identical in size. He would need to add an adaptor at the flange to increase the pipe about 1/4" to make it fit. What We don't know is baffling/restrictions inside that would make them different.

Are there any back pressure or free flow concerns we should know about? Has anyone done this? We leave for the coast on Tuesday and pressed for time. Iys embarrassingly loud right now.

I would think the factory golf cart muffler would be more restrictive than any aftermarket unit.
That said, someone should have jetted your carb when they went to the aftermarket exhaust so you may have to do some carb work with your new muffler.

What is factory top speed on a stock cart? I got 18 out of it today. I'm guessing they didn't much or didn't know what they were doing. So I'm doubting they jetted the carb. I could be wrong. But it's not seat of your pants fast.

My 98 topped out at 12ish. I had to jet mine because it was missing the air cleaner and muffler when I bought it, with a foam filter and a Honda generator muffler it would bog on launch and misfire on the top end. Even after drilling the jets it didn't pick up speed but it does run good now.
