Default 1997 ezgo

I looked at a 1997 ezgo yesterday , body good , but not great ,, engine totally fried ,, ran gas/oil mix and there was no oil in the crankcase , they ran it till it locked , question is what would this thing be worth , tires great ,no lift , great brakes ,steering ,, would this engine be worth a rebuild ?

What Model? hard to say if the engine is worth rebuilding with out knowing what's damaged. What's it worth, that's a hard call without seeing it..... To Me... I would say if it's a 97 txt maybe around $500, probably less. that leaves around $500 for the engine, and another $500 in labor = $1500 in the cart running, value of it running around that, maybe $1600 - $1700, really depends on condition. That's how I would figure it up.

That was sort of what I had in mind around 400 to 550 , engine will go in favor of a Briggs , may have some of those cart specialty wiring things to sell to defray the cost .

I would say v-twin transplant also. it might be a little more expensive, but you will be more than satified once its done.

Havn't talked to the shop owner about it yet , just saw it at his shop when I went to get some carb parts , he has had it the required 3 months after a customer said he did not want to spend as much as it was going to cost him to have it repaired and somthing about Ga. law prevents the shop owner from repairing then selling it , but not from selling it for scrap after abandonment .
The owner of the shop was out of town the day I went and is supposed to be getting in toutch with me about it . I'm going to keep on him until he comes up with a scrap price . His other option is to store it around back and use parts off of it so it does have some value to him , just hopeing that it won't have so much value to him that I can get it off of him , been looking for another junk 4 cycle for the rear end for a project but the rest of this cart is a lot newer than anything I have had thus far .
