Default 89 gas EZGO fuel pump insulator needed

EZGO doesn't make the plastic insulator that goes in between the engine and the pump..does anyone have any knowledge of what can take its place...my first thought was make one out of Aluminum. .but it's obvious that it was made of plastic to keep the heat away from the pump...will plexiglass work or is there too much heat

I was just looking @ the buggies unlimited website and saw a "ezgo gas 2-cycle gasket insulator fuel pump fits 1978 to 1991". Looks like a small piece of plastic with 3 holes in it. Is that what you need? $12.99 plus shipping
