Best Theft Prevention
What is the best method you have seen to prevent theft of your cart. Tire boot?
I was thinking about getting this and bolting it to the floor http://www.gemplers.com/product/2269...eft-Protection |

Re: Best Theft Prevention
A lot has been posted on this subject. We use a simple high quality bike cable with a combination lock (no key to misplace). Simply place the shielded cable through the steering wheel and straight back around the rear seat back support. Placed in this manner the cable makes the steering wheel impossible to turn and the seat difficult to occupy... for under $20

Re: Best Theft Prevention
theres always replacing to the stock key with a barrel style key switch, then there is the hidden kill switch and the golf cart steering wheel club lock .
that floor mounted wheel boot lock you have posted is only as good as the pad lock on it , 2 mins and a cordless drill and thats history |

Re: Best Theft Prevention
While it does work it also sucks.
The simplest theft prevention is to make your cart look like poo. Junky, nasty, looking like it does not run. If Nobody wants it, they wont steal it. Lol I saw a guy in phoenix that had the next best thing. Was a hoop bolted to welded brackets on the rear axle. Had an electric screw actuator on it with a hidden switch combo lock. You press the code then this switch and the hoop more of a giant D would swing down to the ground and lift the rear wheels 4-6 inches off the ground. Cant really tow it, to heavy to lift far, too far under and high to get a hand truck under. Could use furniture dollies or remove or jump the actuator but that all takes awhile to accomplish. |

There are a number of trailer locks like the one you found. Look at etrailers.com.
