1999 speed and power problem
I have a 1999 ezgo gas. Just got through buying this. In reverse it runs great, good power and speed. Forward, not much speed and little power. Does this make any sense? Advice appreciated. Could adjusting the governor make a difference?

Compression on the engine? Valves checked? Drive belt good? Shifter cables shift freely?

Compression, not sure. Was told it had a valve job a year ago. Belts are good and cables shift freely.

It also will sputter a little bit until it warms up real good. Not bad just a little cough now and then.

Re: 1999 speed and power problem
Ok, update. This cart has a broken rod so I'm gonna do a rebuild. A few questions. Do I have to take the clutch off? It's a robin eh29c. What all do I need and where do I get it. Clueless right now but gonna learn as I go I guess. All advice would be appreciated.

The good news is, pulling that engine for rebuild isn't too difficult of a task and the engine is light enough that it can be easily done by yourself ... Do a little searching here on the forums for how to DIY a clutch puller, that will save You about $40, once you have pulled the clutch it's fuel lines, cables, muffler, unplug the wiring, and 2 bolts front and rear, 4 on the bottom, out. |
