Medalist question
Looking at purchasing a new cart to me, see picture. The ad says '99 Medalist, from what I've read Medalist were only made in '94 and '95, is that correct? The front end has the black plastic over the nose which would tell me that it is a Medalist. When/if I go look at it I'll look at the manufacturer number to see what numbers its says but the ad must be wrong to state that its a '99, right? I've had a 2000 txt for almost 10 years without too many issues, any reason to stay away from a Medalist? Why did EZGO only make it two years?
Thanks |

Re: Medalist question
Sure looks like a Medalist to Me, metal rear end w that front end ... The Medalist was the next gen from the Marathon, and was basically a TXT other than the metal body (in fact, a TXT body will drop right onto a Medalist frame) - 2yrs later, they went to the plastic body and renamed it the TXT, same drivetrain, suspension, everything - just a new plastic body.
You're correct w the years, it's either a 94 or 95, definitely not a 99. Does this matter? Not really, if the price is right (resale is FAR lower on the metal-bodied carts) and the compression is good, doesn't smoke, etc. The only real difference between this cart and yours is the body material and associated extra weight (under 50lbs difference) so if it's a good deal (figure $500 less than a mid-year 96-2000 TXT would sell for in your area) I'd say go for it if it's clean |

Re: Medalist question
Seller is telling me that it is a 99 Medallion Series, not a Medalist. I can't find anything about a Medallion Series, anybody know if there is one?

Re: Medalist question
Seller is wrong or doesn't know what he is selling. Move on.

Re: Medalist question
Ezgo made the Medalist after 95 as an electric model. It looks in the photo like a charge plug in place of a choke. Maybe someone has converted it to gas or is it electric.

Re: Medalist question
The Medalist was produced until 1999, 96-99 models were electric only. This information can be verified through EZGO
