Default 2006 Ezgo gas txt leaking something

Reddish/brown fluid leaking from cart. Will be investigating when I have time. Any ideas

Sure can, a failing shock (IE bad seal) will leak it's fluid ... Sounds like it's time to replace the pair (always replace shocks in pairs IE both fronts or both rears)

Different shock manufacturers may use different fluids, but yes they will be oil consistency. If there has been any water contamination you could have rust (reddish/brown) running out with the oil. If it's coming from the shocks, yes they should be replaced.
