Starter generator
I have a ezgo txt gas golf cart with the 295cc Robins engine. When I hit the gas the starter generator barely turns then after it warms up it doesn't move at all. The battery is a 860 CCA and strong, does this sound like the starters gone bad.

Re: Starter generator
Before you condemn the starter generator check that all the electrical connections are clean & tight - particularly the grounds. I've seen the slow/no turn caused by bad grounds many times.

Re: Starter generator
I'll check that Thursday I need to wait for the rain to stop. I'll post a follow-up as soon as I know more, thank you for the response.

Re: Starter generator
if all the connections and grounds are good, it's likely the brushes in the S/G - a new set is around $15 and easy to install, however if You keep trying to start it when the're bad (which it sounds like) you're going to burn the armature ...

Re: Starter generator
If it's tight, grounds are good, and the batt is good, open that bugger up and check those brushes.

Re: Starter generator
12.8 volts everywhere I checked all the way to the starter/generator and that was under a load. I just ordered a new one, figured I can fix the old one and have a spare or sell it.
