not getting gas
88 ez-go marathon gas 2 cycle
Finally got the engine to turn over today thanks to info from the forum. Now it doesn't appear to be getting gas. There is a clear fuel filter and we don't see gas there. To check the line we sprayed it with carb cleaner. With this in the line we could see it appear to be pumping it on through the filter. When it cleared there wasn't any gas visible. Even with the carb cleaner in the system and a shot of starting fluid in the cylinder we have only gotten it to pop but not run. We can pull the plug and have fire but with a shot of carb cleaner or starter fluid it may or may not pop a couple of times. I'm new to these so talk dummy to me. Thanks |

Re: not getting gas
There are SO MANY things that could be wrong with an older 2 stroke that it's hard to start where to look first.
Here is my first question - What is the engine compression? |

Re: not getting gas
to those that have nothing but smart alec answers to give, you are giving the forum a bad rep. If I want verbal abuse I can get that from my wife.
To those that actually are interested in lending a helping hand.....thank you. There is gas in the tank, oh and by the way it is even fresh gas. Compression test shows about 90psi. |

Re: not getting gas
90 PS isn't good. Needs a rebuild. Take the float bowl off and clean all the crap out of the needle, seat and the bowl, reinstall and you "might" get it to run. There are NO REBUILD kits available for the carb, only NEW carbs.
Good luck! LOL! |
