Default 91 marathon rear diff swap

Tax time is here. Im going to be putting the 22hp predator engine in my cart, but as we all know if I do this I lose reverse I've been trying to locate a 4cycl marathon diff but its a needle in a hay stack. If I'm correct any later model ezgo diff will work just cut off mounting and weld to new diff will this one work?

And lastly will my current driven clutch fit this diff and will my drive clutch fit the predator engine

As to welding up the brackets and fitting the axle, yes it can be done. If You want to mount Your current Primary Clutch to the Predator You'll need an adapter (available from VegasCarts) and/or cut down and re-tap the crank, also there was a crossover point in 91, so Your Driven Clutch *may* fit if it's the late-style.

Those questions answered, here's some more food for thought - if You plan on running a winch, lights, etc You WILL need to either buy or fab up a bracket and do some rewiring in order to use your original Starter/Generator (plus You'll need another pulley behind Your Primary Clutch to run it) - the charging system is basically nil on those Predators and can't keep up with much more than an amp or so draw (as in ONE headlight depending on wattage may be too much and kill your battery faster than the Predator can charge it) ...

You *May* just want to look into the whole VegasCarts conversion package for Marathon - it is a ready-to-roll bolt-on kit that can be done in an afternoon and not only is higher horsepower than the Predator but it includes a new heavy-duty Comet clutch that will hold up under use (while the stock clutch *can* as mentioned above be fit to the Predator, they're built for 9hp so the longevity of them comes into question) ... The full conversion reutilizes your stock starting and charging system so You won't have to worry about killing your battery, and by the time You figure $600 on the Predator and all the time, headaches, pieces-parts, and consumables for the fab work it's pretty likely to cost LESS overall to just do it right with the VC kit right from the start, plus You'll have a proven engine and a proven conversion.

Again - Just my 2 cents, everyone has different ways of doing things. Make sure if You *do* fab up a 94+ axle that You make sure and design a brace from the differential to the swingarm/cradle to prevent it from twisting or "rolling" under load, I've seen people forget to do that and it *will* cause issues almost from the get-go

I've looked into the Vegas carts conversions but I don't see a v twin kit for my cart if it only goes 20-25 who cares I NEED low end grunt. It works now but more torque would be better I am running 24x8-11 front and 24x10-11 rears on modified Honda rims. What I'm getting at is that from my knowledge the v twin has more low end power compared to single cylinder Hondas or clones

The V's have more torque, but a lot of people look at that alone and assume it means that it will pull better, etc - and that's not the case. The limitations of getting that torque to the ground is the problem - these carts are too light and with the one-wheel-drive differentials just fall flat on their face when it comes to using that torque past a certain point. There are locker kits available (or You can weld up your rear end to permanently lock it) but even then, you're looking at 2wd in a lightweight vehicle, NOT a good equasion for Traction and/or Torque. The EZGO 350's in the Workhorse carts will leave You spinning on snow or ice, and those only have 2hp more than the standard 295 twins or the 2-strokes (both rated at 9hp).

I see says the blind man. Yes its 2wd but with my current setup with 2 link vbar chains and some weight this thing will push but sometimes it just falls flat I would add the new belt is the shorter HP 3004 . I take all information in kind I'm piecing together what I need with the predator vs the Vegas kit
