Another drive belt question...
I'm at whit's end trying to understand what I have vs. what I want.
I read Ruredy's sticky in the tech section, and I have tried using the search. But Ruredy's post, and the search all end up seeming to talk about the 4 stroke carts drive belts. I picked up a 1991 EZGO Marathon 3PG 2 stroke cart last weekend. I'm going through it and giving it a tune up and checking over everything. I've got it running pretty good now. 110PSI compression, tested the crank seals, cleaned the carb, cleaned and gapped the plug. It starts right up and does good. I want some more pulling power than I do top end speed. The numbers on the drive belt on the cart are 27077-G02 DAYCO HP2013. Ruredy's post has that same number on the 91-94 belt recommendation. But... when I do a google search for my belt to purchase... they all say stock ezgo belt for my cart. So.... do I already have the shorter belt? I'm not finding much other than the DAYCO HP2021 belt which is only 1/4 inch shorter than what I have. |

Re: Another drive belt question...
Ruredy's recommending a 2 stroke belt for a 4 stroke which is shorter and in 91 some had 4 strokes.. I'd go with the 1/4 shorter.

Re: Another drive belt question...
I've got my old user account back up and running now... I was "closer" with the original post.
I finally got the cart out on the open road for a bit today. Is it normal for the 3PG carts to almost go as slow as walking speed up a small hill? It'll go up steep hills in my yard but acts like it slips. I'm just afraid if I have the whole family on the cart in town... I'll have to have them get off to keep moving up a hill. The belt doesn't feel hardened and It's been changed before I owned the cart. Meanwhile.... I'll guess I'll start searching post about the driven and secondary clutches. |

Re: Another drive belt question...
Is 110psi kinda low?
I ran older 2 stroke SeaDoos down to about 120, and then rebuild... Maybe search for operable PSI's on the older 2 strokes. She might just be getting a little tired, plus the bigger wheel/tire combo if it's what's in your avatar.. My .00002c... I don't know much about much |
