Default 1990 EZGO Marathon 35th anniv ed first steps?

as i stated in the introduction forum....wife inherited her grandma's GC. it was giver to her grandma used many yrs ago. the last 3 yrs it has sat unused in a garage.

we brought it home and wife and kids cleaned it up.

it needs new tires.

it was smoking a little the day we brought it home, seemed to be better yesterday, though we didnt run it as much.

i'm going to start restoring it little by little.

first think i did was order a new air, fuel, and oil filter and spark plug. (tune up kit). i've read about disconnecting the oiler and going with pre-mix. may do that.

i was thinking about these wheels/tires: https://www.amazon.com/18x8-8-Terrai...J5GJN51CDZ1Y03

i'm not interested in a lift. although i was thinking about 1 or 2 in spacers for some extra stability.

i'm hesitant to consider a larger 20 in tire due to the extra weight.

i'd like to add a rear flip seat at some point. if i do that i would replace the rear shocks at a minimum and the front shocks while i'm at it.

i'm not a golfer. I do live behind a gold course and their mechanic is dropping by wednesday to give it a once over.

besides some new tires to replace the cracked very old ones...what would you guys be looking to check out and perform some maintainence first?

I went with a factory ish sized tire on my cart because of torque reasons. Everything around me is straight up or straight down and I need all the torque I can muster. I found the tires on Amazon for a decent deal. They were the most aggressive tires I could find in that small of a size. If you are interested, I can try to find a link for you.

Very nice looking cart for its age. Do the things you stated above. Use the cart a while and you will figure out what to do to "make it yours."

While you have the plug out for the tune up, you could check the compression, if you have a gauge. Good thing to know. I just finished an 86 rebuild. Parts are pretty cheap and available. Nice cart you have there.
