Default New to me Ezgo Terrain 1500x

Been looking for a newer workhorse and ran across a 2012 Terrain 1500x. 16 hp Briggs vtwin, locking rear, electric dump bed and lights. Needed some new shoes and a little tlc but good shape and price was right. Have since added shoes, rear tail light brake light, did full maintenance and a good bath. Have already tested the locker twice. One good to go but the other was a fail! Got the belt too wet and no go. Camo cart drug it out though.. Now for pics

Well crap. Having internet issues so can't get pics to load. Have to do it later when I have my cable wifi.

Nice I just scored a older st 480 model it was beat pretty good but I mainly wanted it for the locker rear. I also noticed that ezgos cradle is lower than cpp cradle I try and mount the motor as high as possible to help with the water and belt situation I even used some 1'' square tubing under the motor.

Well as much as I like it I had issues putting a jet ski in the water and sunk the starter about half way in the water. Cart runs fine but s/g is now howling. Pulled it today and plan on replacing the bearings, brushes and cleaning it all up. I hate it but once I have it back right it will be up for sale. Just not the right setup for what I want.

That locker is hell on the hubs. I would only use it when really needed. The price on those hubs is outrageous!

I've always had issues with those briggs engines in those machines. Same engine that's in the original BBB Ambush models. Stop and go, on & off operation they hate.

This one is running fine but s/g is making noises after its bath. Pulled it yesterday and bearings look good but I will replace them anyway. Brushes are suspect. Now just trying to find someone cheaper than ezgo for the brushes

Starter has been rebuilt and all is well. No more whining at least from the cart

New brushes, bearings and a little cleaning and back together. $75 in parts, sweat, a few swear words and some thought cans.

Now a good bath and she will be for sale.

Follow up post. Used the cart a couple of days and started having issues with the starter not spinning. Checked all the cables and all good there. Next step maybe brushes weren't seating. Pushed the 4 rubber caps and started right up. We are getting somewhere. Kept hitting the go pedal till it died again. Pushed just one rubber cap. Started right up. Repeat. Same thing. Pulled rubber cover and inspected everything. Mental note. After starter has been running wait at least a few seconds before sticking fingers in there. Residual AC voltage. Made sure everything was as it should be and started it multiple times with the cover off. Put it back together and made sure the cover wasn't binding on the brush wire. Has started every time since. Thinking my original issue was the wire got bound somehow and wasn't letting the brush make contact. Time will tell.
