Default 1995 EZGO 295cc Rebuild kit Gap and Bore Question

I am getting ready to buy a rebuild kit for 1995 EZGO 295cc. The bore size seems to be in the range of 2.520" STD with telescoping bore gauge (Not much tolerance!) However, I am a little worried if I put some hatching in the cylinder it will be outside the tolerance. I am perplexed that the cylinder did not wear much at all, but my ring end gap - (old rings) is showing approximately .051in end gap. If I order standard piston and rings will the rings fall in the acceptable range of (0.008~0.016in)? I am ordering a complete kit - rods, timing belt, piston rings, etc and do not want to blow $300 bucks to find that the ring end gap will be out of tolerance. Is that what most of you see for wear .038in of wear. I am guessing the rings are pretty soft then. The reason for the rebuild is that the rod broke. I picked the cart up used and the cylinders are not scored at all and the crank cleaned up nicely with muriatic acid. absolutely amazing that it cleaned up and looks perfect. Thanks for reading!
