Cool 1994 Gas EZ GO with 2 Straoke 500CC Polaris Motor Need Exhaust Awnsers

I new to this site as of 2/18/2009 I have a 1994 easy go with a liquid cooled 500 cc snowmobile engine, I have to add reverse so I bought a 4 stroke rear end. And adding electric start so I bought a clutch with a ring gear and a starter. So my question is exhaust.... Mine has a snowmobile tuned pipe on it now and It is way to loud because it dosn't start moving untill 4000 rpm.... What are your thoughts of taking that muffler off and adding a straight pipe to a car muffler with a smaller opening out the tail pipe to create back pressure?

Hello Osen,

A 2 stroke needs backpressure!
If you mess withe the standart exhoust, you almost for sure get a bad running engine!
Also don't change the header, the length is messured out to the engine.
Get a extra exhoust at the end off the standart exhoust like it is done one much racekartengines like a rotax max and shifters.

Your only concern than is: take one with at least the same opening as the end of the standart exhoust, so don't build up extra backpressure!

I have seen this problems on a racecart wit a Yamaha 350 YPVS with a 180 thegree turned cylinderblock!
