Default 295cc Ezgo pouring gas out of breather tube, question about carb

295 Robbins cranks won't start. Has fuel, air, spark. Motor cranks, fills up, and spits fuel out of crank breather tube.
If I inject starting fluid directly into carb, the motor fires right up and runs........ (keep extinguisher close!)

My main question is if the valves were out of sink, would it turn over with staring fluid? It's obviously getting fuel as the case is filling with it. Carb seemed fine when I inspected jets and passages. Any help greatly appreciated!

If it runs good with starting fluid, then the valve timing should be OK. A stuck float in the carb or a dirty needle valve is likely the cause of the engine being flooded- or if you have a fuel pump that is operated by crancase pressure, then the fuel pump diaphragm may be ruptured and that may be the source of all the gas.

float needle has trash under it/float may have hole in it/or fuel pump are likely suspects I wouldn't run it with a crank case full of oil not for fear of fire but because its not lubricating the internals properly clean carb good change oil and you should be ok
