Default 2003 TXT Body & Fuel Tank Removal

I've got a ton of crud in my fuel tank and would like to clean it out. Based on my inspection and what I've read from other people, it sounds like this is only possible if I remove the body.

Anyone care to walk me through how to do that? It looks like the rear body is riveted to the frame under the floormat. Is the only way to remove the body by drilling these rivets? I'd prefer not to mess with that....

Any other advice on how to clean out the tank without removing the body?

You might have missed the EZ-GO tech forum. Lots of questions answered in there.

You can have the body off in minutes if you have a few hand tools, and decent drill and index. You can order a new rivet kit on here, or search for a few minutes online and figure out all the sizes you'll need to go back together. A cheap pneumatic rivit gun from HF will save you some time and effort.

As far as the tank, I think it's just a few bolts.

Yea I just bit the bullet and yanked the body. Would have been a piece of cake if I hadn't drilled the danged gas tank while trying to drill out one of the rivets... I have a tendency to make things harder on myself! I will look for the rivet kit on here. Thanks!
