Default Loss of power

Finally got the cart ready for 4th of july, Bought 1998 txt last year. running fine, but heres how my year has gone. hammered out the bent front end (found that it was a workhorse lift install). Repainted it, reupholstered it. have been driving around no problems. ran out of gas last week. filled it up today, packed up with 4 people and a cooler, and during our trip to the lake it lost power.

It still runs but real slow..
Question, is it clutch or engine or rear drive? it has a 6hp.
Ive told myself when the engine goes i'll just get hf predator for $300.

Is has ronin engine now.

All help appreciated.
Happy 4th.

First thing I would do is check compression. I'm assuming you mean a robin engine which should make around 9 hp. 4 adults and a cooler is a pretty heavy load for that cart. How slow is slow?

Put it in nuetral and or on blocks lift the seat floor it and make sure belt comes to the top of primary clutch and sinks to the bottom of secondary clutch

Yes. Valve adjustment is easy to should be done periodically. My cart is a 2000 txt and I had a badly worn drive belt that measured ok on the outer surface but the sides of the belt had worn to too much of an angle, if that makes sense, so my belt was constantly slipping but never squealed. The cart would run fine with only me on it but loaded down it would barely move. New belt fixed it right up.
