Next was the plan to eliminate the rubber mats off of the body, and start bodywork.

Next was paint. It's been a long time since I actually sprayed anything for real.

A good friend manages the auto paint shop close by. She hooked me up with everything I needed to shoot a single stage metallic.

You'll notice the tiger stripes in these pics. These are of the 1st and 2nd coat. I did 4 total.

These are of the final coats, about 10 minutes after spraying. I shouldn't have moved them outside, but I get impatient.

Everything flowed out really nice IMO. I was happy for my first sprayout with a Harbor Freight HVLP gun!! LOL.

The original plan was to do a matte silver with a lot of metallic. Well, we ended up matching the paint color of the custom rims, so it's quite a bit darker than my initial idea.

It does look weird when it's inside, under the fluorescents, but the metallic really pops in any kind of natural light, and actually has a little gloss to it.

Looks great - I just blew a cart that we're building yesterday with a Silver Aluminum Metallic, it came out a little darker than I wanted so I broke down and blew 2 coats of .004 Flake on it with just a touch of Grey Tuxedo Pearl - I still have to wetsand and knock down the flake later today before I do the final clears (it was getting so late last night that I decided to push the window a bit and put the final off til today) - here's how it looks now, I'm likely going to throw a *tiny* bit more Tuxedo in the first coat then bury it - I really like that Grey/Silver look on a cart (although obviously, this may have been a *bit* over the top as far as metallic content goes, LOL)

Looks good!

Do yourself a favor and shoot the inside of the body, you will be glad you did when reassembled. Really give it a professional look!!

Thanks guys!

Shopping carts for paint stands seems like a great idea. Easy to roll around, for sure.

I was thinking of doing the inside of the body too. I wish I had before I shot the color on it, but oh well, nothing some tape and film won't take care of.

I like my carts to look anything but stock. I never want the golf course to ask me why I'm loading up one of their fleet carts!

I just picked up a dead Club Car yesterday.. So, now I have another one to do down the road.
