1986 gas marathon ignition troubleshooting
I have a 1986 ez-go 2-cycle Marathon. No Spark. I have no continuity on the wire, and cut it back a few times and can't find the break. I tried a regular wire and still no spark. by regular wire I mean I tried a 12 gauge wire, and a graphite core plug wire, neither worked. I am ordering a replacement solid wire core plug wire, which the original appears to be.
The resistance on the coil is 3.8 ohms, which I read somewhere means it should be good. What voltages should I see at the two coil wires? What should I check for next? assuming it is not just the plug wire. I did print out the manual for the 85 GX-444. The troubleshooting section is not particularly helpful when all it does is have you swap out the parts with known good parts. |

Ah. Thank you. I saw the section about possible causes. I missed the section behind that.
