Default 89 2 cycle carb float needle valve sticking

I would like to replace the float needle valve on the carb to determine if this stops the needle from sticking in the closed position when cart is not used for several days. I can find entire carbs for sale, but can not find just the float needle valve. Would appreciate any input.
Thanks
Bob

You could try cleaning it, but it sounds like the float is sinking from saturation.

Sounds like a bad float. I personally would just purchase a new carburetor for around $30.

Thanks for feed back.

Can you give me a lead on where to find a $30 carb? Most of the prices I have seen are around $100.

If the float is bad, would that not flood the bowel? My problem is that the needle sticks in the closed position with the float hanging down . Could it be that I need more pressure from the fuel pump? I have a good flow from the fuel line when taken loose from the carb, but I have no idea what pressure it exerts. Guess I had better connect a clear tube to the fuel line and see how high the pump will lift the fuel. Any idea what height to expect?

Cart runs great after I put 2 to 5 psig air pressure on the fuel line feeding to the pump. You can hear the air in the carb after the needle is unstuck.

Thanks
Bob

You're right about flooding the bowl. I was thinking backwards.
