89 Marathon running issues

I've worked on a few 2 strokes successfully, but this one has me scratching my head. Had it in a few weeks ago, reed valve wouldn't close completely. Replaced reed valve, did crank seals while I was at it & it ran good. Came back barely running, no power, flooding and fuel running out of the carb inlet. Good compression (just over 100), feel good suction at carb inlet, plug VERY wet, strong spark. Cleaned carburetor, found very little debris in there, no help. Changed carb & wouldn't run at all, tried a 3rd carb and it worked about like the original - still no help. Pulled and double checked the fuel pump - no luck. Any ideas about what I might be missing here?

Raw fuel coming out is usually bad read valve did you check it again even though it was new or a stuck or improperly adjusted float but tossing different carbs on there points to Reed valve
