If you are trying to override its effect there is no reason to delete it. Can't imagine how much work it would be to reroute and connect your throttle without that hardware.
Just zip tie the spring to the back of the bracket and let 'er rip. Plenty of threads here on how to override the governor. |

Re: Robin 350 governor delete ??s
It would be safer to wind the ten mm nut onto the cable further until you hear the engine stutter at the rev limit on the igniter then back off a little till the stuttering stops, this way you will get max revs without hitting the limiter. This way you cannot over rev your engine and cause damage. Unless of course you have a really early igniter that has no rev limits, but they are as rare as hens teeth so i doubt you have one of those !
Another reason not to overide it is because with no load on the mechanical governor, if you over rev the flyweights internally they can break loose, jam up and possibly destroy some internal axle components, Not a good thing to happen believe me, i have seen it a few times now. If you wish to go for it, i suggest tearing the axle/gearbox down and removing the governor system completely and cutting the spindle off inside the casing to keep the oil sealed in. This way, it all looks standard from the outside, but with no fly weights there is nothing to pull the throttle back so that spring will not compress/decompress. Or of course, the zip tie will do the job, just dont over rev the engine too much. |

Zip tie the spring and cup to the back of the bracket the cup rests against. It will take two zip ties to hold it flat and securely. Make sure to thread the zip ties thru the spring and not just over one coil. If you don't thread thru the spring the zip tie will slip off the spring.
This essentially makes the accelerator cable firmly attached to the back of the governor bracket that is connected to the carb via that Rube Goldberg set of pivoting linkages. The governor can't retard the throttle position when done like this. As Cartmaster suggested, you could easily over rev the engine like this. Get yourself a cheap digital tach and mount it on the dash somewhere. |

Re: Robin 350 governor delete ??s
The general concensus is about 4000 max. Assuming the engine is in good condition and properly maintained. Beyond that the stresses could increase exponentially.
