Default Gas gauge and key switch wiring help

2007 ST350

Installed a delux wiring kit today, which came with its own wiring harness for the entire cart, so I removed the factory harness.

Good news, is I got everything ran and the lights work, and cart starts.

However, I know I need to still wire the fuel gauge and key switch & oil indicator light, as the harness doesn’t include these.

I ran new wires directly from the fuel gauge and oil indicator to the gauge and light in the dash.....but I still need to provide power, right? Which comes from key switch?

I removed the L & B1 (blue wires) with old harness from key switch

So questions are what wires do I need to run to the dash for power? If I’m even thinking correctly

Pics attached of before and after

12v power outlet was also disconnected during factory harness removal.

As well as wire that is circled in green, was removed from solenoid with factory harness

Final pics are of the new fuse block and a relay I think, but not sure what it does. As well as the instructions that were barely enough information to be called instructions.

Ok. the blue wires you took off the ignition switch were purely for the lights and will only switch / close circuit in the second key position so these are basically redundant. The oil light just needs a live feed from the switched side of the keyswitch as does the fuel gauge and both should go to the corresponding sensors, yellow to fuel gauge, white to oil sensor. The oil sensor then earths itself to the engine completing the circuit, the fuel gauge has a black wire that goes to ground to complete the circuit.. Your picture of the solenoid with the green circle is maybe the original feed for the power socket? You can take power from the key switch for your lamp and gauge i think, as in your picture showing the ignition switch, lamp and gauge and this will make sure there is no power to those items until you press the pedal. The power socket needs to be fed from a higher current supply such as the solenoid. live side if you want the socket permanently live or switched side if you want it to only work when pedal is pressed.

All this is from memory and i will have to check diagrams and come back here tomorrow. Maybe someone else will chime in here and correct me or agree with me.

Right now I have the yellow and black ran directly from the gas tank to the back of the gauge. Do I need to ground the one from the tank and ground the one on the gauge separately? It’s already wired to the key switch.

I have no problem just running a separate ground and power wire for the 12v outlet

the yellow wire goes from the gas tank directly to the gauge and the black from the gas tank goes to ground, and i believe the black from the gauge also goes to ground. then you have the red at the gauge which gets it's live from the switched side of the ignition. I have just got to work with all my books and need to look it up to confirm. My memory is failing here LOL. Its been ten years since i did these!

So in theory, looking at your picture, that black should go to ground at the other end of the loom somewhere, i just forget exactly where it is done.

This might help. The red wire from sender to gauge on the diagram is the yellow one on yours! (about two thirds down in the centre.) It shows the two blacks linked and grounded.

Great diagram!

That’s where I screwed up, I just ran the black all the way from tank to gauge. It click yesterday that it probably grounded itself somewhere inside the old harness.

Will hopefully correct this today and see if it works.

Planning to just run the 12v outlet on its own set up to the fuse block.

On oil light, is the yellow wire considered the power or ground?

It only had the white wire attached when old harness was removed, so i’m Suspecting it wasn’t even hooked up to begin with.

White from the lamp goes to the engine sensor which is ground and the other wire goes to the same live feed as the fuel gauge or from the switched side of the start solenoid.
