Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models
I am looking at the RHOX A-arm lift kit for the EZGO TXT. The kit is for 01.5 to 08 models. I have a 99 model. I know that the newer models have rack and pinion steering and a different steering column. Are there any other differences? I would like to know if it is feasible to change out the steering column and use the 01.5 and newer lift kit on the 99 model. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Robert |

I don't see why it wouldn't work, you would need to replace all the steering not just the column, might be expensive
unless you find a donor cart. The columns mount to the floor different, one 4 bolt one 3 bolt.. should be no big deal. |

Re: Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models
That is what I was thinking, the rack and pinion must come with the kit, as it shows the tie rods coming out of both sides of the rack, and if I remember the OEM rack only has one tie rod. If that is right, I would only have to replace the column or modify my steering column shaft to fit the "U" joint in the steering rack.

Yes, That is the one I'm looking at. Looks good to me, and at the price (200) less than the most popular brand, I am wondering if it works as good as it looks.

I haven't been able to find a pic of included parts, nor a list of parts. I looked on the RHOX web site, and nothing there.

Might ask if anyone has that kit in the lifted section.

Re: Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models
My guess would be that you will be able to source a post 2001.5 column and fabricate and weld a plate to the frame to bolt it to. It looks like that kit will provide everything else needed.
I could be wrong as it a while since i looked at the differences in the frames but i am sure you will be able to work something out. if i get to my lock up i will compare the differences in the frames, but it may be a while before i go there. Maybe we can find some images of the frames pre and post 2001.5? |

Re: Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models
Thanks for the input, guys. My cart is in Florida, and I am in Georgia, so I can't just step out the door and look at it now. I have a 99 TXT as already stated, that right now has an Allsports 4" straight axle type kit on it, with 12" wheels and 25" tall mud tires off of a four wheeler. I changed out the tired OEM engine out for a 23 Briggs. When we take it on trails I want to improve the ride by putting on an independent front suspension, and also disc brakes to help it stop. I got the "go" and now need the "whoe" lol. Again, Thanks for the input!
