Default Stripped out clutch bolt 90 marathon

I have a 1990 3PG Marathon on which the threads are damaged in the engine where the clutch bolts to the shaft. The long bolt is damaged too.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Luke

If its just the threads you can order two new bolts. Make a tap out of one of the bolts and re-tap the crank. I did to mine and for added security I put a tad bit of blue thread locker on the bolt. You-tube making a tap dye. Or you could always find someone that would loan you a tap...Auto-Zone or Advance Auto have free loaner tools...might want to check there. Make sure you get the right bolt like grade 8 or whatever it is. You'll probably find that the bolt is like 7.5 inches or something odd...you cant get it at the hardware store...I just googled the size and found it online cheap.

Thanks for the advice. Do you know what size the threads are? Mine is wrecked so badly.

7/16 X 5 1/2 SAE (fine) thread. Also have a thick flat washer and a lock washer. Use grade 5 or 8.

^^^I just confirmed the size and agree with LOU^^^

Just buy two of them since you'll already be paying for shipping.

A thick flat washer would probably work fine but the real original washer has a bushing on one end that goes inside the clutch cover about 3/8".
