Default Ezgo gas cart

Does anyone know where i can get a front cowl for a 1986 ezgo txt? Or up to what year are compatible to fit my model? Also looking for a diagram to hook up the key switch since somebody bypassed the one on mine. Thanks

Look at the Forward/ reverse switch. You will see a microswitch on the driver's side. If it also has another microswitch on the passenger side, use this diagram. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...n-retrofit.jpg

If it only has one microswitch, use the 85 manual below. You can also use the manual for everything else on your cart.

Yours is a slope nose Marathon. Pretty much all Marathon years will fit. In 88 they cut off the front wedge, and put on a plastic nose extension. That's what I installed on my 87. I think they go up to 93, or 94.

Here is a basic rundown of the wiring.

Large cable from positive side of battery to large lug on solenoid. That is where a small wire splits off at the solenoid. It then goes through an inline fuse to the key switch. The hot side of the switch splits off to the reverse buzzer. (Driver's side of FnR switch)

The switched side of the key switch is connected in series with the pedal switch, and the Neutral safety switch (if you have one). It then connects to a small terminal on the solenoid. The other small terminal is connected to ground which then completes the circuit.

EDIT: I don't know if it's possible to buy a new one. I stripped mine off of a junk cart.

Nivel has parts like the front plastic clip for all the Marathons. We get tons of 'em with busted or missing front pieces and while a pain in the butt to replace, we have done a ton. They have the ones for headlights as well.

Are the cowls just a bolt on or do you have to cut some of cart off for them to go on?

If it's just the plastic front, then it's just held on with quite a few 1/4" 20 bolts and nuts. the hard part is not only undoing the old ones (they tend to seize) but getting the new front on. You kinda need two people (one to hold the front and another to bolt it in). New ones tend to ship not quite perfectly shaped so sometimes you need a knife to help mold it in certain spots.
