Default Drive clutch problem

Fellas. My drive clutch refuses to close in with acceleration every once in a while. A little load from braking will engage it, and then it works normally.

I see the tech guides answer to remove it, but:

Do I really need the ezgo puller or are their any auto store pullers that will do the job?

I assume the cams are not moving freely. Any idea what would cause this? Are there replacement parts or do I have to replace it?

Thanks

1.Look in the (tech) section of Gas EZ GO 28 deg clutch and shorter belts. There is a way to make an inexpensive tool to get it off.

2.The buttons are probably worn out. The ramps may be chewed up as a result of this. You won't know until you look inside.

3.Yes there are replacement parts. If your stuff isn't worn out.

4.Look over the Tech section it should answer a lot of questions for you.

I have heard that a 3/4 fine thread bolt and some deep well sockets can make a improvised puller. don't really know, never tried it that way.
Could be dirt, crud, or old an wore out. Not really sure about the parts for those, they use to sell them but I think they've been discontinued now.

tech section are visible to new members, as MOST of us know, sometime sarcasm doesn't type well.

8000+ posts of this kind of stuff. Man thanks for the help! I wouldn't have thought my issue had anything to do with a post about upgrading to shorter belt, but I do now!
