ST480 oil capacity
anyone know the oil capacity for a ST480 with the 2 cylinder vangaurd engine off hand? don't have a manual, and cant find a strait answer online haha.

My 2006 ST480 has the Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 16hp. The manual lists the engine part number as 75643-G01. They've replaced it with a newer model.
The Service Manual I have says to drain the oil, add 1 qt of SAE 30 (depending on the temperature you normally run it at it could be different), and then to start and drive the vehicle slowly for 30 seconds. Turn the vehicle off for 30 seconds, then check the level on the dipstick. Slowly add more oil to bring the level to the full mark. Do not overfill! |
