Default 1990 Marathon - has spark, has fuel, won't start

My 1990 Marathon just up and quit. Cranks all day long, but won't fire. I have replaced: solenoid, ignition coil, spark plug wire, spark plug, ignitor and carb. Has compression, though didn't test. Engine was rebuilt Welchs Golf Carts in Perrysburg, OH before I bought it probably 5 - 7 years ago. I have crank seals, but don't want to pull engine plus there doesn't appear to be any leaking. One strange symptom is that fuel backs up into the air intake. After cranking for a while if you remove air intake fuel comes out - a significant amount. If you remove plug and crank, fuel shoots out plug hole. I removed the reed basket and it appeared that one side was not seating properly, could see light. I removed and bent them so that light was blocked. Still nothing. Finally took it to an ezgo dealer, they won't work on it say its too old. Getting it back this weekend. thinking pulsar or starter/generator may not be putting out enough juice but am really just guessing at this point.

HELP! Need suggestions.

Not wanting to remove the engine doesn't make a crankshaft seal problem go away.

Your only options are to check the fuel pump for a ripped diaphragm, and then replace the seals. Hope it's a ripped diaphragm.

Cranks all day long means that there is nothing wrong with the starter, or the solenoid.
Did you check for spark before you replaced the entire ignition system?
What ratio are you mixing your fuel?
120 psi compression is new. 100 is acceptable. 60 is still compression, but it won't run. Maybe we should stop guessing, and do some real testing.

Solid advice ↑↑ you need to narrow this down compression test is a must and if it's blowing fuel out it's either the ripped diaphragm in the fuel pump dumping ** into crank case, low compression, or ignition problem I would diagnose in that order

Won't it also do that if the valves are out of spec to far? 60 is compression but most the time at 60 it won't start. Valves will also let fuel into the air box. You need to get that compression up JMO.

Thanks for the replies. I have a relative who owns a number of campgrounds and the cart is with his golf cart mechanic right now. I had pretty much reached the conclusion that its either the reeds or the crank seals. The fuel pump is pumping fuel but it backs up into air intake, therefore not enough lower pressure to pull it in. How do you check the crankcase pressure? Can it even be tested? As for the fuel pump I can get a new pump for $50 or less, which I'd do rather than rebuild the one on it. While I can fix a cars engine, I didn't understand these 2 cycles. Now I do and see that the fuel is pulled into the crankcase first (hence oil in the gas to lubricate - duh) so those seals need to actually seal. Along with all the ignition parts I bought I also have new crank seals. If its the reeds I have no clue where to get them. I'll keep you posted.

Got it back and it runs. BUT it takes a long time to start, and I don't think it has the power it had before. When you start it, it will crank for about 15 seconds or more, then the engine begins to catch. Another 15 seconds or so and the engine gradually speeds up and then off you go. If you go a while and stop, it will go pretty much right away. If you let it sit for a few minutes, its back to the slow start.

The mechanic told me it was a fuel problem and possible carb adjustment. Also stated that it doesn't seem to crank as fast as it should meaning starter/generator.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
