Default Oil pump help

Hello All,
New member and first post. I was given a 1998 EZGo TXT with a 295 in it. According to the owner, it “ran” before it was parked but was having issues. I ended up bringing it home.

Long story short, it’s had a rough life but I thought it’d be a cool project for my two boys and I. I could use it to tow my flatbottom around as well. [emoji16]

I can’t find much literature regarding the oil pump. Someone please tell me if this looks normal. To me it doesn’t but I’ve never had an EZGO oil pump cover off before today.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

That all looks normal.

just needs a O-ring and cover.

Since you have had the cover off, i would becarefull to make sure it has oil pressure when you start it.

I put a manual, direct gauge on mine. It only takes 4 psi to keep the oil light off.

I'm not sure about your mechanical skills! you put the engine in you boat backwards! LOL

Lol! Thanks for the information. Ya the cover is pretty beat up. I already ordered one up along with the o-ring.
You’re not the first to tell me the engine is backwards. [emoji16]IMG_2607.jpg
