Default Hello, and what's my new investment?

Brand new here, used the search some and even Google some. I realized I accidentally posted into an electric post. Anyways, excited to be here and learn. Can anyone guide me as to what year and possibly what motor it is. It's a western on the ezgo platform. I know it's a gasser. I can't find a plate but found a few numbers on some frame? Also when accelerator is pushed it sounds like it's maybe running real slow or just cranking, but will creep a little bit. Also I'll add some pictures of a button I can't figure out. Thanks for any and all help. I think I did ok for $150 though.

The engine is a 2 stroke Robins 2-PG. It's 9 Horsepower.

It's just cranking. When it's running, you will know it.

Your wiring will be slightly different from this manual because of the lights. Everything else should be the same.

Do a compression check.
Test for spark.
Test for fuel flow from the pump.
If it's not putting out a healthy spurt of fuel from the pump, plan on changing crankshaft seals.

I see the governor, and oiler are still connected. Most people remove them.

Thank you very much, so am I safe to guess it's somewhere around an 85-87 model?

I like those Westerns, You did good for the money. Look at the top of the engine under the starter/genny for a tag like the one in my pics, mine's an 85 hence the first two numbers after 'Motor No.'

From what I can see in your pic I'd guess yours will be a bit newer since it has oil injection, Let us know

It could be 81-82, or 84-87. Check the back of the forward/reverse switch. There is a microswitch on the driver's side that activates the reverse buzzer.

Then look on the passenger side of the switch. If you have a second microswitch there, it's a neutral safety switch. They started installing them in 86.

If it's not there, the cart is 85, or older.

It would be down low, and behind that black plate. I don't see any wires.

This is what the microswitch looks like. https://www.golfcartking.com/ezgo-ac...-micro-switch/
