Default 1996 EZGO TXT Intermittent Spark

My 1996 EZGO TXT will have spark sometimes and then other times not spark at all. It hasn’t run good since I got it but recently I started having spark issues and I noticed that when it did have spark it seemed weak. The previous owner replaced the coil less than 6 months ago. I replaced the CDI today and at first it had no spark and than it had excellent spark. I drove it around for a few minutes (still ran bad) and then parked it. Tonight I adjusted the valves and went to crank it and had no spark. I’m wondering if the coil is bad. How would I test the coil?

It will not fire unless you leave one plug wire connected when testing. Leave one plug wire connected to other spark plug in head then check to see if you got fire.

I’ve probably tried both ways but I’ll try it in the morning and let you know what happens.

Spark that goes and comes could be a wire with bad connection. Wiggle the connection that goes to pulser coil and see if it fires. Make sure your wire is connected good at solenoid . I will probably be back here tomorrow night to see how you are coming along.

Where is the pulser coil located?

Under the fan cover. Do you have a DVOM ? to test the pulser ? I showed a picture of where it is located. I have run into bad connections where it plugs in. Just wiggle that connection and see if it starts firing.
If not then test the pulser with a meter.
