Default 2008 ST 2+2 LED Conversion Project

I don't know if this is the right place to post this thread, but just wanted to help others with ST's if I can.

In the town I live by they require headlights, tail lights, brake lights and turn signals. I'm a little handy and do some wood working so I decided to buy the GTW LED light kit for a TXT and convert it to fit my ST 2+2. Everything from the kit fit perfect except the headlights and front turn signals. For those I purchased off Amazon a 1/2"x12"x24" piece of black polycarbonate. I picked 1/2" think so that I could trap the LED headlight inside it and clamp it in with machine screws and washers on the backside. To mount the headlights I just used machine screws and drilled into the cowl where there seemed to be some good meat. I did drill a few 1" holes into the headlight pocket for the wiring and for venting. I also cut a piece to fit right in place of the old turn signal and utilize the old turn signal mounting. I had to counterbore a hole for the new turn signal because it uses a single post with a nut to mount it.

The other issue I had with the kit is the turn signal switch. They provide some foam pieces to make up the difference of the column diameter (they suck). I ended up cutting an old bicycle tube in half and wrapping it around until I got a good fit. Now it is nice and secure to the column.
Another lighting item I added are backup lights. I found two LED license plate lights and mounted them under the rear foot rest. Then wired them to the back up buzzer.

If anyone out there has access to a mill or machining center these headlight mounts could easily be produced. If I did it all over again, I would have headlight mounting screws come in from the back side rather then the front like I did on this one. It's not the best job but my wife is happy that she can cruise into town without problems.

Looks great. I wish a company would produce some LED models.
