Default 1988 ezgo 2cyle golf cart burning to much oil?

Hey so ive got a 1988 ezgo gas golf cart (marathon?) and i tried disconnecting the oil injection pump like many have suggested and it killed the power on it. I ran it 1 once of oil per gallon of gas. so i hooked up the oil injection pump again and put straight gas into the tank and its really hesitating now. i pulled off the spark plug cleaned it off(was charcoaled black) cleaned it off really good and tried it again. same thing, it hesitated really bad and i took the plug off again and it was chared black again. is this a sign of failure to expect from the injection pump to dumb to much oil or is there something i need to adjust?

When you disconnect the oiler, you need to plug the banjo hole to make it air tight.

i did plug the hole when i had it disconnected, the oil injection is working cause its pumping oil, i watched it pump it through the line. the problem is it seems to be dumping oil into the cylinder. the spark plug gets charred black.

When you removed the oil injection system and mixed the gas/oil in the tank did you also drain the unmixed fuel from the line and filter? IF not then it would have ran on straight gas til the new mixture got through the line.....Bad Bad!!

Also, now after re-installing the oil injection system without draining the mixed fuel from the line it'll be getting double oil from both the injection system and mixed, That would explain the fouled plug too........

I'd say start over and be sure to drain the fuel line and filter, then replace the spark plug, I've never had good results from cleaning one. They're cheap enough anyway, Good Luck
