Angry Help Please.... Carts Driving Me Crazy

97 295cc Robbins Engine Ezgo 4/Cycle
Replaced Pulser and cart started right up and ran fine in neutral. Cart started spitting and spurting driving it. Found fuel pump was bad. Replaced it and cart will run great for about 5-10 min. then act like it’s starving for fuel If will decrease in power start spitting and backfire also. I stop and checked to make sure I had fuel flow to carb and it was very good. Any one have any ideas what to do next? We cleaned the carburetor this weekend also. I haven’t checked the valves. I’ve been trying to get this cart of mine running right for several weeks now. It’s driving me Crazy😏
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

This may be where the problem is. check valve lash and set to .004. you will probably find the inner two valves are tight and staying slightly open. The inlet valves wear rapidly on these engines and is usually down to poor fitting air filters. If adjusted now and it make an improvement, run the cart and see how long before you have to adjust them again. If fairly soon, then it will be time to install new inlet valves. The exhaust valves are not usually affected.

Thanks CartMaster I’ll check that as soon as Florence moves out. Just got power restored today. I’ll check the valves next week I hope. Thanks again.
