Don’t know where to go next
Hey y’all,
Still trying to figure this thing out I have a 94 gas ezgo still not sure what model it is some say a medalist others say a marathon when I push the gas pedal I get a click every thing is getting power every once and awhile the starter will spin for a second. Can anyone tell me what the voltage or amps are supposed to come from the igniter I know there are two grounds not sure on the other two thank you for your help |

Re: Don’t know where to go next
First, take the belt off the SG and see if it will spin.

Re: Don’t know where to go next
Is that spinning it by hand or using the gas peddle, like trying to start it?
If its using the gas peddle then we know we have power to the S/G. Make sure the battery is fully charged. make sure all contacts are good, batt. both sides of solenoid and at the s/g. You could have a voltage drop issue between battery and s/g, but more likely its the brushes in the s/g. The brushes are located in the s/g on the far end from the pulley, they get burnt and don't make good contact with the armature. You can try holding gas peddle down, like trying to start. at the same time tap on the s/g with a hammer. If it starts to spin its a contact issue in s/g. You can pull s/g sand or file the brushes, clean up the end of the armature with sand paper. If when you said "it spins" and you were spinning it by hand? that's a whole different issue. You will need to see if you have power going to the s/g, if not there is a whole list of things to check. Also on my 96 there is a inline fuse in the engine compartment, if its blown or not making contact you will not have power to anything. |

I have power going to the s/g when the peddle is pushed. No power to the green wire to the s/g

Did you try tapping on the S/G ? In doing so you make the brushes come in contact with the armature, |
