Unhappy 97 TXT Steering Issues

Hello. I have a 97 TXT that has some steering/alignment issues. I don't really know much about steering so I am looking for some direction.

As you can see in the picture, the wheels are a bit angled. One more so than the other. Also there is a lot of play in the steering wheel.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hard to diagnose without seeing in person, but I would start by having someone sit in the seat and turn the steering wheel back and forth as far as the play will let it go before it starts turning the wheels. See what moves before the wheels physically start to turn.

Probably start with tie rod ends if I had to guess, that's usually one of the first things to wear. possible the steering gear itself is worn, but i'd start with the simple cheap parts.

Drivers side wheel appears to lean in at the top and out at the bottom when the wheels are pointed straight, That's negative camber. The camber is not adjustable on this cart. Issue could be, bent axle, bent spindle or king pin. Most likely its a king pin and bushing. Easy to change. You can use the cart with the camber issue, it will just wear the inside of the tire but will be great for high speed right hand turns. LOL

Play in steering, as CP241 stated tie rod ends, you have 4 of them.
next, in the steering rack, (that's the part the steering shaft go's into) there is a large brass bushing where the pitmen arm attaches, They cost about $50 and are a pain to change! Then the rack it self will still have play.
If the tie rods don't solve you play issue I would replace the whole rack, about $220 on E-bay. Its not that difficult, hardest part will be getting the steering wheel off. I just cut mine off and replaced with a custom wheel.
When you put it back together don't forget about the toe- in. with out 1/8-1/4 toe in the cart will be all over the road.

hate to say it but you need to tear down the front end and figure out what is bent or wore out

like others said tie rods could be wore out or again something else wore out and causing issues

figure out whats wrong, fix it, and send it in for a alignment you will be amazed how well it drives

Diagnose. Order parts. Replace worn/damaged parts. Then confirm the repair. Repeat if necessary (sometimes fixing one thing will expose something else broken/worn that would not have been evident before).

In that order. Deviating from that process gets very expensive very unnecessarily.

Give us a little history ? Has it always been like this since you owned it ?
Those axles were very easy to bend. I replaced many after golfers would abuse them.
