1998 ezgo txt robins gas will not rev

Cart ran fine all the time, my son warmed it up backed it down the drive way and it wouldn’t accelerate. Had to walk next to it to get it back in the garage. If I feather the throttle and mess with the choke it will eventually rev up and build rpms, but if I start the cart and depress the accelerator pedal it bogs out, sputters and will not clear out. I have changed the plugs, adjusted the valves to .004 replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the carb. When I place my hand in front of the carb air cleaner side it has great suction. Also pulled the crank case pulse line off the fuel pump and it has good vacuum. I checked the plugs tonight and one is perfect brownish and the other is a little wet with fuel. Could this be a fuel pump problem? Or ignition component problem?

Has anyone had this concern before? Like a light switch. Runs fine and bang won’t even accelerate!!!

Kinda - seemed like all at once, but looking back it did progress over a short period. We had a few folks using the cart, made it harder to notice.
Did you adjust the valves? Always seems to make a difference.

its not a fuel issue as both cylinders get fed by the same carb

could be plug wires and not getting a good spark

could be a bad valve "intake" that the cylinder isn't building compression

I bought a cart the guy said it needed the carb cleaned found out it had a broke rod and only one cylinder was working crazy part was besides being down on power you would have never known

They ALWAYS say "it needs the carb cleaned" especially if it doesn't run at all. Lol

You could tell by pulling the line at the carb and see if it's pulsing gas.

Compression test done both cylinders 165-170 consistently.

Im leaning towards a ignition concern. Weak spark gonna do some testing tonight and see what I come up with. $800 dollars for an oem coil! Yikes

Well, the culprit was the **** spark plugs. New plugs installed and it runs like stripped ape! Ok like a properly tuned golf cart!
