Default 2008 RXV gas governor gear in axle

Hello,

I recently bought a rxv that didn't have the correct motor. I pulled that and sold it and now am installing a VC 625cc in. It also came with a brand new in the box team driven clutch and I will be using VC primary clutch for my install. My questions is does anyone have any more information on the plastic governor that in the rear axle? If i am running over 35mph will this gear fail or will it be fine. I have read within some forms that guys say take it out but have not found anyone saying they have had problems with it.

Thanks

Default Re: 2008 RXV gas governor gear in axle

Tried talking to Ezgo service guy that I see not very often...he just hung his head. I am in favor of keeping the governor working since a few different people use the cart.

Does anyone make a metal one to swap it out with ? Are there any performances advantages to making one slightly smaller or larger ?

Can't see having to "replace " the entire rear end if it blows apart and the dollars involved when so many other accessories are out there.....

Do any vendors sell them.?

hmmmm....who do I know that has sand castings capacity.....
