I don't mean to question your abilities or knowledge but... Silly question, are you 100% sure the engine is actually running and it's not the starter/generator turning it over? I ran across this recently helping a local member with their Yamaha, they swore it was running but wouldn't move anywhere. Internet assistance wasn't working so I stopped by and looked for myself. they had a loud muffler on it and I will admit it definitely SOUNDED like it was running but it was just the starter/generator turning the engine. Stock motors are pretty quiet anyway so it can be hard to tell...
Yeah I've owned 10 carts, done every bit of work on them myself and this is the 1st one I haven't figured out.I have a computer engineering degree plus I've worked on every vehicle I've ever owned myself, I've never had to hire someone to do it for me. On top of that I'm 56 years old, I'm pretty sure I know the difference between a starter generator moving a cart and the actual engine. I can honestly say I've never seen a starter/ gen that can make a cart go 6mph.

Did you read post 46 Mac?

and I didn't see where you answered the question "is the throttle plate opening all the way?"

Easy there, turbo. I wasnt attacking, I was just asking. From here we have no way of knowing if this is your first cart and you're 15 years old, or if you're an aerospace engineer.

What about the first part of my post you ignored? What happens if you manually open the throttle by hand? And can you upload a video of how it's running or what it (throttle, linkages, clutches, etc) are doing? You can put the rear on jack stands and run it while you record. A picture (or in this case a video) is worth a thousand words.

Lol I like the name Turbo,
Yeah I can get a little overzealous sometimes.
Yes the throttle plate is opening all the way.
I'm going to video it here in a little bit, I would love to eventually have a properly working cart before the dang summer ends.
I do appreciate the help I get from everyone on here but some of the questions I get, I feel like it's some fat girl with a script in front of her computer and she's troubleshooting my internet service.
Is the modem plugged in, can you see the flashing lights lol.

The video of you driving does sound like it's running on one cylinder, also the drive clutch isn't closing,
(could be of low rpm though) How do the plugs look as far as color?

I'm not sure a bad coil would only fire one cylinder but someone here should know.

I believe these work on a wasted spark system so technically, no. But a bad plug wire or spark plug could do it!

Just to check, remove both plugs 1 at a time and hold to a valve cover bolt and check for a fat blue spark. Dont use an inline spark tester, they can give misleading results.

I did try 2 different coils. I tried the old one that worked with my 295 Robin's then I bought a new coil and got the same results. I'll check the spark here in a bit.

I agree though, it definitely sounds like it's missing a cylinder. Make sure you only pull 1 plug at a time when checking for spark. If I remember correctly, if both are pulled together it doesnt act right.
