Burnout problem
I have an 89 Marathon and when you select F or R and give it gas it hesitates and then spins the tires. I am new to this ball game and do not know a whole lot about how the clutches work in these. I can feather it and it will not do this every time. Anyone have any suggestions? If it is something that needs adjusting how do I do it?

I also have an 89 with the exact same problem. I've been told it's because the belt is too loose/worn out. So I bought a new belt but have been in rebuild mode and haven't got to test it yet. The old belt I took off was pretty worn and slick on the edges. Will know within a week and will ping you back!

Twins, the clutch may be getting worn and sticking or may just need cleaning and lube.

The clutch or the belt is the problem. You can can check the clutch it may be getting worn and sticking or may just need to clean it.

Twins. Good news is I got my cart back together after changing pulsar coil and it runs again! I put a new drive belt on and its slightly less apt to do burn outs now, but not great. From the other threads here, reckon we need to do some clutch work...ugh!

i would clean and rebuild both clutches, im surprised that you havent spun a hub yet with the burnouts
