Talking TXT Battery Recomendations

Well got my engine running last night. It had been sitting for about two years due to a charging problem. Least that's why my buddy told me he parked it. I ran it using the included battery with a starter/charger. I tested the output of the generator and its putting out over 14 volts to the regulator while running. Haven't done a good test of the regulator itself because the battery is hosed. It seems like it might work because it puts out power but the battery drains while running.

Battery is dated 2011 and its shot. Its a group24 marine starting battery. 500cca.

Wondering if I should replace with the same battery, or try to go larger?
The cart wiring is ring connectors not battery terminals. Is this normal? Should I just get a big car battery and throw terminals on the cart wiring, or go with another marine battery because of the bolt posts? Also, does anyone know what the output voltage from the regulator to the battery should be?

either way would be fine they come standard with ring terminals

I just used a car battery and put terminal clamps on that had bolt posts

cheapest way for me I think my battery was like $60

I bought a group 65, 650 cca. Its a little bigger than the deep cycle that came with the cart. It does weigh a little less, and more cranking amps.

As far a charging, I had a meter hooked up while driving, and the regulator isn't putting out any power. So I'm going to test the gen one more time to be sure, then replace the regulator.
