Default carb problem???

I have an 87 ezgo that I put a new top end and pulsar coil on it. Sometimes it starts and when it does it goes kinda slow till it warms up. It almost stops going up small hills. The fuel pump is pumping fuel. Does this sound like a bad carb???? If I clean it out it will run for a few than hard to start. Ill buy a new carb if this sounds like the prob.. Any Ideas?????????? any one got a carb 4 sale???????? PLEASE HELP

If you've cleaned the carb, and it runs better for a while, then you need to make sure you have an in-line fuel filter.

Definitely start with the filter... It's cheap...

I can adjust the air screw I changed the inline fuel filter and spark plug and still no luck. It turns over great and only fires when I first tap the peddle. Than I can hold the peddle down and no fire. I took of the intake and covered the mouth and my hand gets fuel on it so I know its getting gas.
