2 cycle 60 psi compression, Rebuild it?

Long story short i have a early 80s 2 cycle ez go. very slow to take up, and go up hills. I changed both clutches and the belt. Compression is at 60 psi, it does not smoke. The head was missing two head bolts. I checked the head gasket and added two bolts still at 60psi. Is there anything else i should check before i rebuild this engine?I sprayed starter fluid around the engine to to check for leaks and the engine did not rev up that i can tell. Also, is it better to just buy a over sized piston and rings and hone the cylinder or just buy a complete kit with the jug etc. I am new to golf carts but have rebuilt a lot of two stroke dirtbikes.

Pretty sure these don't have valves, someone correct me if i am wrong.

Reed valves... it’s a possibility if they’re really dirty and not functioning properly but more than likely time for new rings... not too big a deal if the cylinder is in generally good shape

No valve adjustment on the 2-strokers.
Time for a rebuild if compression is what you say. Its best with 120psi but they will run at 90 psi. Install two new crank seals while you have it on the workbench.

I will check the reed valves, nothing would surprise me with this cart. I was really hoping I was losing compression where someone for some reason left tow head bolts out of the head.

Mine is running with 60 psi which from what i have read shouldn't be happening, it starts right up and does't smoke which is also odd. I will take your advice on the crank seals! Thanks

Crank seals won’t affect the compression on those. You should replace them as long as you have it out though. When I rebuilt mine I got the whole cylinder as well as the piston and rings.

They may not effect compression but they will effect air/fuel ratio

I never said they affected compression. I was just reminding him to make sure he replaced them while the engine was out.
