Cool Will not turn over at different times?

I have a 2012 TXT and sometimes it turns over fine and other times it acts like it tries to turn over but does not? Battery checked OK, sent starter off and they said it checked out fine? Have checked battery connections all seam clean and tight? HELP!

I had a similar problem and it ended up being the manual fuel pump. My cart is a much earlier model but I thought I'd throw that out there.

Maybe I am not wording the post correctly? The starter will not turn the engine over. The engine runs fine if the starter turns it over? I just never know if the starter will turn the engine over or not? When it does not turn it over it does try but it acts like it has a dead or low battery? But I have had the battery checked at least 3 times and it always shows good?

The next time this happens. Spin by hand the stater gen belt maybe 1/3 turn. If cart starts you have a dead spot, try a few times just to verify. Common issue.

If you have the Kawasaki engine, it's pretty normal. You have to overcome the compression stroke before it spins over. Mine is like that anyway.

So 4mula1fan, what did you do to fix the issue? My 2012 does the same thing.

Also be sure the belt is tight enough and the starter pulley is not just spinning on the belt.

Club cars have done the exact same thing for years. More common in the FE350 than the FE290, but I've had 290's do it as well. Most of the FE motors in the world have a decompression valve to eliminate that. Not sure why they decided to use a motor without it.

Sometimes I've had success in improving it, others not. I've replaced starters. I've cleaned and replaced ground wires, battery wires, ring terminals, cleaned ground points. Tried bigger and stronger batteries. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it makes no difference at all.

You could try cleaning the ground wire off of the starter, corrosion can build up between the ring terminal and the chassis. You could try hooking jumper cables up, may just be an old battery getting weak. You can also inspect the starter brushes, that's easy enough to do and doesn't cost anything. But if it's the "kawasaki hesitation" on the compression stroke, I wouldn't go replacing the starter itself unless it really becomes a problem. It may be $300 wasted. The starters I've swapped were from carts with no hesitation, ever on carts that hesitated almost every time it stopped on the compression stroke. Didn't change a thing.

I thought it was the battery so I put a charger on it and that seemed to not make it happen as often the first 4 or 5 times I went out golfing, but as the season went on it started acting up and it seemed the more holes I played that day the more it would occur. So I put a new battery on the cart in August, but it still wouldn't go certain times. So I know its not the battery.
