Default Serial number alternate locations?

Just curious if ezgo stamped the serial number anywhere in the frame or if it was just on the plate in the glovebox. Just picked up a pre-MCI TXT and the plate is gone, I'd just like to know what year it is if its stamped somewhere else. If not I'll just guess

Could be a sticker like this on the frame rail that runs under the engine cover behind the drivers seat base.

Thanks guys. I'll have to check.

Itll have to be tomorrow after a date with the pressure washer though. Theres no labels to be found in the engine compartment as it sits. I'm lucky to find the engine under all the mud

However, I do suspect why I believe it may not have spark, judging by the general condition of the wiring

Agreed, mud & corrosion aren't the best for wiring & connections. Hopefully there is a label under that mud to give you a year, but the ignition parts (if it comes to that) should be the same for any pre-MCI.

Well, all fixed. Couple connections at the solenoid feeding power to the coil were not good. And the solenoid itself had a big voltage drop coming to it from the pedal switch. Funny, the blue wire had 12.45v going to it when disconnected but when I plugged it into the coil, it would drop down to about 3v. Cleaned grounds, fixed the loose connection at the pedal switch itself and it actually runs very well. Much better than I expected it to.

As for the year, think 2001 is gonna be my best guess based on the emission sticker on the motor itself. No label on the cross member but I'll give it a good bath tomorrow and look a little more closely.

Look on top of the frame rail next to the passenger side rear tire. They engraved them there for a while. And based on the shift cable it is 2001 +

I own a 2003. I have the body off getting it ready to paint . I just looked and no serial number stamped on top of frame.

kgsc is correct. They did stamp the serial number on top of frame but it must have been in the older ones. Like 1990's
Yours is like mine with the single shift cable. Much better than the double ones.

Here’s how it looks on mine-
Man. code is: K2105, so I believe it’s a 2005. I can’t get Textron ‘s serial-number- look-up feature to work.
Not much is ezgo anymore on this one

Thanks guys. No go for me, cant find anything. It is at least a 2001 judging by the shuft cable as noted and the CA emissions compliance for 2001 label on the motor. But we all know that a "new" engine can sit on a shelf in the warehouse for quite some time before being used in a cart on the production floor. My carryall was a 2001 and the motor was manufactured in 1999...

I'll just pretend it's a 2001. Engine cleaned up pretty nice. And stopped smoking and pouring oil out of the breather hose after I drained out almost an extra quart cleaned up enough of the wiring to make it run. I'll clean the rest out soon :) it's pretty boggy but runs very smooth and quiet. Good thing I dont need to choke it becauae that cable is a goner lol. Frozen solid (luckily in the unchoked position) I'll adjust the valves, replace the air filter, drive belt, and spark plugs. Should be good to go

This one even still has the cover over the governor so that's never been touched. Probably the only thing that haant
