mci pistons work in pre mci engine

Hi, I have a mci parts engine with "domed pistons" my pre mci has flat pistons. my question is, can I use the domed pistons in my pre mci engine. My thoughts were maybe getting a little more compression resulting in more power? obviously would probably have to run better gas...

What year is your pre-MCI?

I'd buy new pistons. Perhaps someone knows more than I do, but I've had a number of these motors apart both mci and pre-MCI and I've never seen one with domed pistons...

yeah, all the research iv'e done, I have not seen any domed pistons for these. the engine I have is a eh292c and it is basically new. got it from a cart that was in a garage fire back in 2004. the pistons and cylinders look new still. figured I would use them but the little dome has me concerned they may cause detonation problems but maybe i'm thinking into this a little too much lol.

I think I'd put the right ones in :)

I have a set of pre-MCI 295 pistons floating around if you need them. They're used but good shape, I'd build a motor with them :)

yeah why take the chance right? Thanks for the offer but I do have a good set of the original style also. I think thats what route I will take...
