faster in reverse
Hello I have a 1986 2pg 2 cycle engine i rebuilt . It seems to rev higher and run faster in reverse than in forward . could this be an electrical problem in the selonoid or in the ignition coil . open for suggestions to try to fix this problem. It does climb hills but slow . could it be in the forward reverse switch or starter generator ?

Re: faster in reverse
I'd take a compression reading in both direction for starters, if it is a start/gen problem it'll be overcharging which will put an extra load on the engine. measure the volts at the battery when it's running to see. should be around 14v
