Default 1986 ezgo gas

Can you replace the buttons on a clutch? Mine are over half wore out.

How do you get them off? I saw a pic that says they are held on with a screw but I don't see any screws on my 86 marathon. Do you have to pull the clutch?

From the '85 manual I have it says,

"To remove the ramp buttons, grasp the button with pliers and pull out with a twisting motion. If the button is broken away, use a small drill and carefully drill into the part remaining in the ramp. Using a pick or small screwdriver, extract the button shank. Install a new button and tap carefully with a mallet or hammer to seat. Be sure that the button head is seated within the recess in the ramp casting."

Sounds easy. Good luck!

Thanks for the help, but now it won't fire at all just keeps turning over. I put in a new plug and nothing. Is there a way to adjust the set screw on the carb from scratch( I mean by screwing it in all the way and then how many turns out to get adjustment close)
